“You should have hope in God alone and should fear nothing but your sins.” – H. Ali

What can I say, this is even a coincidence for me…as I had written a blog solely about my father (referring to him as “The Lion” some blogs ago), I recently asked him where his surname came from. His response was, Hazrat Ali. Hazrat Ali (ra) was also closely known as The Lion; The Lion of God. My goodness! ..x

Thanks to my father, I was able to further seek knowledge regarding this eloquent, humble, graceful, brave being, who was known as The Lion of God for a reason. Another coincidence was that I had come across a few of his inspirational quotes before and used them in the blog, and finally to know that these exact words had actually belonged to him. ..x

The words of Hazrat Ali (ra) goes by:

“Honesty will guide you to goodness, and goodness will invite you to heaven.”

“He who trusts the world, the world betrays him.”

“Courtesy costs nothing, but buys everything.”

“The nourishment of body is food, while the nourishment of the soul is feeding others.”

“There is no rest for the person who has envy, and there is no love for the person who has bad manners.”

“Do not try to run after (him/her/them) who tries to avoid you.”

“Do for this life as if you live forever, do for the afterlife as if you die tomorrow.”

“Beautiful people are not always good, but good people are always beautiful.”

“He who loves you forbids you from committing sin.”

“Nothing hurts a good soul and a kind heart more than to live amongst people who cannot understand it.”

– A warrior, a scholar, the cousin of the last Prophet with his loyalty, belief, courage, bravery and honesty – Hazrat Ali (ra)
